Hi,

I'am working on a project where we are about to use Primefaces in Liferay.

But I had worked on a project where we used Icefaces in Liferay.

So, I wanted to know which one best supported in Liferay . Icefaces or Primefaces?

When I go to Liferay- Downloads - Community Plugins, and searched for any sample Primefaces portlet, I didnt find any thing.

But there are sample projects for Icefaces in liferay.

It will be more helpful if you suggest which one to use, before actually starting it ?

First of all, I'm an employee of ICEsoft and on the team that makes ICEfaces. While I can't really comment on the level or quality of support provided by the other products, I can tell you that we have been running on and supporting ICEfaces on Liferay for a number of years now (as far back as ICEfaces 1.7 in 2008) and we are a Liferay partner. Over that time we've worked closely with Neil as the PortletFaces evolved and will continue to do so as the project moves to Liferay Faces.

We support both Liferay 5 and 6 with the open source version of our latest release - ICEfaces 3.0.1. We also offer comprehensive commercial support for Liferay on a number of commercial app servers which might be important to you depending on your environment.

as Icefaces is a plain copy of Primefaces (refer to this blog) I would stick to the "original" that means Primefaces emoticon

Is it possible to have with PrimeFaces mechanism for IPC like in Demo ICEfaces3 IPC Ajax Push Portlet?

The ticket referenced has no update (that I can see) since its original creation.

Is there any intention of creating a primefaces demo that uses its push functionallity in the near future?

Recommend that you click on the "watch" link in JIRA for FACES-1387. That's the best place to watch for updates.

Thanks for the answer Neil.

Is there any reason why this task has yet to be started/completed?

We are evaluating java frameworks and we like what Primefaces offers but without a push example we will have a hard time making it our choice. We are making an attempt to create our own example but are having difficulties so far.

Any help is appreciated.
