Reports in Liferay 6.1

Hi,

Does Liferay 6.1 (CE and EE) has any in-built "report" features? My goal is to generate web-based and member-based reports on the portal using Liferay 's in-built capabilities.

As far as I know, there are no in-built capabilities for Reporting frameworks like Jasper Reports or Pentaho nor any in-built features for generating reports for any portlets with features like exporting in certain formats like excel, pdf, doc etc.

May be someone more experienced can shed more light on this.

The answers they gave are accurate.

Liferay has no built-in reporting, but does support using Jasper Reports.

If you're just getting started w/ Jasper on Liferay, I'd suggest looking at the Aperte report portlets as they''ll make using it in the portal world a little easier.

Liferay 6.0.x EE used to have report-portlet. However, I haven't seen it mentioned in 6.1.x EE.

Contact [e-mail] and ask them if there's any manual for the report portlet. EE related assistance is supported by Liferay.com and not by the community.

With regards to user guide or manual for the reports portlet there is no documentation for this portlet. Basically, the bundled reports portlet is a simple portlet that allows you to display reports created from
report definitions that you can upload.

These definitions are created in Jaspersoft or BIRT.

You would need to look at:

or

http://www.eclipse.org/birt/phoenix/

For documentation on how to create the definitions.
