hi all,

i am using LIferay 6.1 with jetty and postgreSQL on uBuntu,
i have just installed liferay sync on windows, and all the folder and documents is sync correctly to windows folder.

The problem is the size of the documents synced from the server is displaying 0 kb and can't be opened. But when i drop any file to windows liferay sync folder, the file is uploaded to the server with the proper size, and can be opened.

Is there any configuration i failed to set ?

Please advise.

So the file uploads are ok but they are not downloading?

Would you attach the log files? They are in the user.home/.liferay-sync/logs folder.

Sorry i could't get your point.
my understanding is you are able to uploading files and folders using liferay sync properly and you are able to open also.

but in what scenario you are getting okb size and can't be open .in your logs some exception regarding connection refused .i'm not sure its problem to connection with server or something else..

the cause for connection refused was because i restarted the portal.

Here is the step :

1. i create a site in portal, let say "HR" site, and i put document library portlet in the site.
2. i upload a file "test.txt" into the site which size is 7 kb.
3. i installed Liferay sync in the client (windows 7), login using user/password from the portal. And point the destination sync to "HR" site.
4. client is downloading the "test.txt" from the portal but the file's size is 0 kb, (it should be 7 kb). And it can't be opened. (corrupted)
5. i tried the vice versa, i put a file "hello.txt" (the size is 5 kb) into client's sync folder, and the file was uploaded successfully into portal (correct size and can be opened).

So the problem i need to solve is on number 4. (why was the downloading process failed ?)

from my last log :

15 Jun 2012 11:42:08,355 ERROR [DatabaseManager:102] Unable to get last modified 11035, null

Normally when you end up with files of 0KB it's an issue with the downloading permissions. We had run into that issue before. I believe we have corrected it in the upcoming beta. Unfortunately I can't replicate your scenario to see if it's truly fixed or if this is something different that we still need to fix. We should be releasing a new beta in the next week or so. And from there we can see if you are still running into issues and figure out where we should go from there.

I am trying to configure Liferay sync on my Windows 8 machine. It is connected successfully to the site, but into the liferay-sync folder no files gets downloaded.
Can you let me know is there any support issue with windows 8 or what could be the wrong?

Sync hasn't been tested on Windows 8. Please send me your log files. They are in the C:\Users\[your user name]\.liferay-sync\log folder.
