Is it possible to let Liferay send an email one week (better configureable) before a webcontent gets automatically expired?
Or can any1 give me any hint were to start programming such a hook/ext/portlet?

Hi,

You should check Kaleo workflow, as far as I remember there are some notification features what can be used for this kind of purposes with the right workflow definition.

Hi Vilmos and thanks for you fast answer.
"Unfortunately" we already changed the workflow engine and are using activiti right now. I will have a look if i can edit our webcontent workflow to have such a feature.

Do you mean to have web content status change 1 week (or configured days) before the web content expires and to catch it with on entry? There still seems to be a functionality to change the web content status prior to the expiration period.

You could create an ext plugin and modify JournalArticleLocalServiceImpl in the checkArticles() method to add your extra logic there based on the pattern as the reviews are handled.
