Liferay on OSGI environment

Hi,

We're evaluating Liferay to create business applications, we have a few questions:

1. Is Liferay or Portlets in general suitable for this kind of application, I mean like General Ledger, Invoicing, etc ?
2. We have downloaded Liferay that's bundled with Tomcat and running the demo shows that it's also bundled with many portlets that we don't need, how to strip down (not disabled/deactivate) all those portlet and only leave the very core ones ?
3. How to add new category under which you can categorize your application on 'Add Application' dialog ?
4. How easy is it to deploy & run Liferay on OSGI environment ?

Those are all our questions for now.
