how to generate preview of video

HI,

I am developing Video portlet where i upload video file mainly mp4 and flv , and play it in flowplayer.
I want to show preview of this uploaded video. Is there any plugin available in liferay or how should i generate it programmaticaly.
if available please provide link or sample code.
