Hi all,
Which settings (server, portal-ext.properties) I have to make to share documents directly between Liferay and Microsoft Office (sharepoint) by using the document library portlet?
Thanks in advance
Regards

Hi Bryan,
I am trying to access a document library in Liferay 6 EE SP1 from MS Word 2007, creating a MS document workspace (Publish/Create a document workspace).
Did not find information on how to do so.
The link ou provide in your answer returns back on this forum post here:
I tried to convert Liferay URL syntax
Into:
Since port and protocol should be '7070' and 'sharepoint', according for example to:
http://forums.alfresco.com/en/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=20920
This doesn't happen to do the job.
Of course, attempt to open workspace on webdav protocol is also a no-go.
Is the blog post still available somewhere ?
Does it answer the question ?
How do yo create and use MS Office workspaces with Liferay ?
Tks for your feedback on these questions.

Hi Philippe,
Basically, when you use the WebDAV URL for Sharepoint with the same port number.. you don't change it (that's an Alfresco thing). So, basically, http://localhost:8080/tunnel-web/secure/webdav/guest/document_library will give back WebDAV information as well as other information that makes the MS client think it is a Sharepoint server -- consequently, it calls the Sharepoint servlet in Liferay.
HOWEVER, there was a problem in Sharepoint that was fixed in 6.0 EE SP2 that he will probably be faced with. See: LPS-14464

Salut Philippe,
have you been able to get an answer to your question or to answer it yourself?
In a first step I only found abstract statements like this:

Hi Andreas,
As you can see in Alexander's reply, actual implementation in 6.0 EE SP1 needs a patch comming in SP2 to work properly.
For now, I am still waiting for SP2 to be released.

Hi Hugh,
I even tried with 6.1 but no way.
Tried Liferay sync today. It works, but this needs desktop installation.
And Liferay's promise to interoperate with sharepoint protocol is not fullfilled.
I'd be really glad to prove that to my customers.
What about you folks ?

We have not tried SP2, but I think we are about ready to give up on inline editing of files for now. With storage deduplication, Liferay Sync has some promise, but we will have to come up with a strategy to make sure it works for our users.

Yes, agree.
My experience of Liferay Sync is that it is still beta : it worked fine once and never again since then.
Guess Liferay team is working hard to improve it.
In my opinion, should add a parameter to decide if you want deletions to be propagated on other side of the sync, also.
Reminder on the main trial, which I do not give up on: trying to access a document library in Liferay 6 EE SP1 from MS Word 2007, creating a MS document workspace (Publish/Create a document workspace).
Setting such adress
http://@dress:8080/tunnel-web/secure/webdav/guest/document_library
or
http://@dress:8080/api/secure/webdav/Site_Name/document_library/
Word replies: "Tle location you selected for your new Document Workspace is a restricted or non-trusted site. If you are certain that this site cannot damage your computer or data, add it to your Trusted Sites an then try creating your Document Workspace again."
Of course I *did* add in Security Center...
Could anybody help please ? Business at stake here.

Hi guys,
Would you mind posting your experiences and concerns about Sync in the section of the forums discussing Liferay Sync? This helps us to collect issues community members are having.
In regards to the Sharepoint problems, what are the issues you are facing? We have tried to be on top of a lot of those problems in GA1 and, of course, in the upcoming 6.1 EE release.

Well, for starters, all your posts state that you are using 6 EE SP1. Have you been able to duplicate this problem on 6.1 GA1?

Hi Philippe,
Unfortunately, this is not a problem I have encountered myself (nor have I seen reported) so I have a bit of trouble analysing it. Are you using a vanilla tomcat build or some other environment? There was a similar problem solved recently with Weblogic and Websphere:
LPS-12922
Also, in the upcoming 6.1 EE, there were a few WebDAV-related tickets fixed:
LPS-6308
LPS-24920
Incidentally, are you getting anything in your logs?

Hi Philippe,
Sorry, I didn't notice what you were asking for was Sharepoint WORKSPACE. We too have confirmed that this is not working. It also seems there may be problems mainly in Office 2010, while Office 2007 seems to be working fine.
I'll need to look into this further.

Well, at least we now both know what we are speaking about.
I am using Office 2007, if it is working fine I'm eager to see a demo very soon, since what is at stake is demonstrating this functionality for a very close customer tender.
Can you arrange that please ?

This link seems to be in looping redirects ?
Is there other place I can find a guide on how to integrate with Sharepoint in 6.1 GA ?
Is it through document library and WebDav . ?
I am a bit lost here... and this is very importante to decide if we adopt the Enterprise Edition license...
