Twitter Portlet Problem

Hi Everyone,
I have added page called social. I then downloaded the Twitter portlet and installed it. I can now find that portlet under the Social section of Add Apps. I drag the portlet to my page. I then click please configure your Twitter screen name. This takes me to my account where I can fill in my Twitter name. I save the page. I then go to the Social page where I get this message "Your Twitter screen name is Don_DeMoss. Your tweets will appear as activities. " I then post a tweet on Twitter and it doesn't show up on my Liferay "Social" page I created. Do I need to load another portlet? What could I be doing wrong? I am using Liferay 5.2.2.

Is there anyone who might have an idea why this might not be working?

I was thinking that there would be quite a few people trying this Twitter portlet out. I am stuck. I have no idea why it isn't working.

I am seeing the same problem. No tweets are displayed after configuring the twitter username. I am using Liferay 5.2.2 SE. Is this a bug ? How can we resolve it?

Hi,

you need to add the Activities portlet from the Social section. Your tweets should appear there.

I noticed this weird behavior where the tweets appear sometimes and sometimes do not. Also, the portlet does not refresh on its own. Try logging out and login again. I was able to see a few tweets...

I am now considering using the RSS portlet to fetch the feeds...

I got the solution for the problem.

You need to unlock the tweets from twitter.com.

In twitter.com, login and go to settings, de-select 'Protect my updates' if already selected.

Now the tweets will be available at Activities portlet!

Hi Anand,
Did the twits show up in activity portlet for you ? It doesnt work for me.
I added the twitter user id in my profile, but I Guess the portlet doesnt sign in into the twitter.com site.
Please let me know what I may be missing.

Well, after going back to my page, I've got my tweets, so I only needed a refresh. I'll try to find out why this refresh is needed as it will confuse others too...

In my portlets I have simply used the profile widget from Twitter site http://twitter.com/goodies/widget_profile
and Search Widget from http://twitter.com/goodies/widget_search
They work without any effort!

I'm confuse how to connect portlet twitter to portlet Activities.

Who can tell me how to solve the problem.
I use Liferay6.1.10, twitter portlet is OK for me now. But there's no activities showed in Activities portlet. I've tried all methods mentioned above, but still no result.
