Indexing PDF content

Is there any way to index the content of pdf documents so that they come up in keyword searches?

How do we display this in the search results page? When we originally installed liferay and in the results page, we had two columns .... 1 labeled "document library" and the second "web content". But then we added the search portlet and that changed the results page. After adding the portlet, it looked more like the results page found on this site (with the star rating). The problem with this is that it's not display anything from document library.

Is there some setting in ext-props that needs to be set?

No. There isnt't any portal-ext.properties setting. You just have to upload pdf files to the document library.

I'm not sure what you're asking. Did you modify the search portlet and the result page?
