40 portals on one instance!!!!!!!!

hi<br />I read in documentation about runnig partals on one instance <br />now what do you think about runnig about 40 portals on one instance??????<br />my boss want me to install 40 portals on one instance with postgresql and I think that it will get many resource and postgresql can not offer good service for the portals <br />and they will be very slow.<br /><br />what do think ?????????<br />

How many concurrent users / page impressions per minute?<br /><br />You might like to consider:<br /><ul><li> How much RAM you throw at it</li><li> How much CPU you throw at it</li><li> A separate database server</li><li> Something other than Postgres if you think it is not performing</li><li> An Apache front end</li><li> A load balanced cluster</li></ul>
