I have a question for you regarding layout templates in liferay:
It seems that if I generate a layout template based on DIV layouts it breaks, however using tables works. As it is no longer 1995 I can’t use tables for layout, do you know how / why this is?
The error is in the javascript which liferay uses to deal with the drag n drop GUI, and occurs when you let go of a portlet (dragged from the “add application” panel) into a “hit area” in the layout. It seems to me (with my limited understanding of the internals of liferay) that the javascript is at some point looking for a td/tr/table element, and can’t find it.
I’ve ruled the possibility of it looking for an element with a specific ID or class (by emulating the structure of id’s / classes with DIV’s)
Any Ideas? This is liferay 4.4.2 we are using...
