Zsolt Balogh, Support Engineering Team Leader, Liferay Hungary

Zsolt Balogh leads the Hungarian support team that serves Liferay's customer base for all of Europe and Australia. In this capacity, he supervises Liferay's professional response to our clients' technical challenges. Zsolt's methodical nature, quick thinking, and deep technical knowledge allow him and the team to tackle the many challenges clients inevitably encounter when deploying enterprise software.

Zsolt has been an active member of the Liferay community long before the establishment of Liferay Hungary, and he is proud to demonstrate his devotion to the Liferay community and vision.

Julio Camarero, Core Engineer, Liferay Spain

Julio is a Core Developer for Liferay Portal working from the office in Madrid. His work focuses mainly on user interface, accessibility and usability. He is also the main coordinator of the Liferay Translation Team and is an excellent teacher and has performed Liferay training courses throughout Spain. He also participates often as an Architectural Consultant for Liferay customers. Julio holds a bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering and a master's degree in Computer Science from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Spain.

He is currently pursuing a Ph.D in this field, focusing his research on web and intelligent techniques applied to disaster management response.

Marko Čikoš, OptimIT d.o.o.

Marko Čikoš graduated from Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb, Croatia. He works as software engineer for OptimIT d.o.o., a Croatian software development company headquartered in Zagreb. His primary field of expertise covers Liferay as well as other web-based solutions. He is a certified JAVA developer (Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE 6 Programmer) with extensive experience in Web technologies including JSP, JSTL, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, FusionCharts, Flot, etc.

Armin Dahncke, Senior Consultant, Liferay GmbH

Armin has joined Liferay in 2008 with more then a decade background of Software Architecture, Project Managing, Test Center Leadership, Senior Consultancy in the J2EE scope, mainly focusing on interbranch creation of enterprise applications in the EMEA market. His current operating level is execution of public and private trainings, leading sponsored developments, speaking on roadshows into leading SWAT exertions.

James Falkner, Community Manager, Liferay, Inc.

James Falkner oversees the 65,000-strong open source Liferay Community.  In this role, James provides information, education, and leadership development, while constantly encouraging participation and growth of the community.  James has over 14 years of experience in technology, and he blends his strong technical background with a passion for open source.  James has been involved with enterprise web development and the Liferay Community since 2008.
Prior to joining Liferay, James led development of several key technologies in Oracle's Web Center stack, including its collaboration and social networking services.  James is also an alumnus of Sun Microsystems, where he was the principal architect for Sun's portal technologies and participated in several open source projects such as OpenPortal, GlassFish, and Community Equity.  James holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Florida.

László Gulyás, Partner, Aitia International Inc.

László Gulyás (Ph.D. in Computer Science) is partner at Aitia International, leading the Intelligent and Web applications division. He has been a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of Informatics Cooperative Research and Education Center at Eötvös Loránd University. Dr. Gulyás has authored several book chapters (5+) and journal articles (10+), and published many conference papers (50+).

He participated in 6 international research consortia under the European Commission's 6th and 7th Framework Programmes and was either a project leader or participant in 6 R&D projects funded by the Hungarian Government.  Dr. Gulyás is a graduate of Eötvös Loránd University, Hungary, from where he received his PhD, MSc and BSc degrees, all in Computer Science.

Ross Kennedy, General Manager, Liferay Hungary

Ross Kennedy serves as both General Manager of Liferay Hungary and Director of Business Development overseeing their global ISV and OEM Channel Strategy. In this dual role, Mr. Kennedy is responsible for building and scaling Liferay's partner programs to meet the growing industry demand for Liferay's enterprise-ready solutions and driving the business development for Liferay in Central and Eastern Europe. Ross began his career as an engineer for Sun Microsystems, where he was responsible for leading aspects of their international, external manufacturing relationships and product delivery. Ross served in strategic alliance leadership to several leading solution and services companies including Vertigo Software, Live Oak, and Network Equipment Technologies (NWK). During this time, he was responsible for driving channel awareness, joint go-to-market campaigns, and corporate alignment with strategic partners. Ross received a B.S. in Engineering in Alberta, Canada.

Olaf Kock, Senior Consultant, Liferay Germany

Olaf Kock, After being an active part of the Liferay community for two and a half years, Olaf Kock has joined Liferay GmbH as a Technical Consultant and Trainer. After several years of software development experience in various, mostly server-side projects, Olaf now supports client teams in the architecture, implementation and development of solutions using Liferay Portal.

Joseph Shum, General Manager, Liferay Germany

Joseph Shum was one of the earliest members of the Liferay team, joining the company in 2005 as a software engineer and architect in the professional services division. After working closely with clients and partners at companies like Intuit and Napster, Joseph's skills were redirected to building Liferay's international alliance program and assisting Liferay's partners to build successful solutions for customers.

Most recently, Joseph has been serving as General Manager of Liferay GmbH, Liferay's headquarters for the European market. In his new role, Joseph oversees the day-to-day operations of Liferay's second largest business unit, as well as overall sales and customer relationships throughout the European market. He holds a degree in Software Engineering from Lakehead University of Canada.

Máté Thurzó, Software Engineer, Liferay Hungary

Máté plays an integral part in the team of developers at Liferay and is also visible in his work related to customer support. His experience ranges from Java to database development; presently he is working on various projects for the upcoming Liferay release.

Máté' love for technology and innovative business ideas find its way to perfect harmony in the projects he chooses. His ready to help nature, as well as responsibility to train new interns makes him the perfect fit to the mentoring program.

Tomáš Polešovský, Software Engineer, Liferay

Tom works as a software engineer focusing on Liferay's core development. Tomáš has 8 years of experience in Java EE with Liferay and other commercial Java portals (Oracle and IBM) and has a strong background in software architecture, consultancy and development. His experience spans over tens of commercial projects for mid-size companies and companies with over 100,000 employees and state organizations. He is passionate about visions, elegant solutions, architecture and security of information systems.

Tomáš holds master degree in Computer Science from Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic.

Ivan Krnić, Project Manager, CROZ d.o.o.

Ivan Krnić is a project manager and the Java development leader at CROZ. With 10+ years of experience in the field of web application development, he has come a long way from simple PHP solutions to complex JEE systems. His specialties are banking sector systems as well as various portal solutions. As a project manager, he led the implementation of complex banking systems focused on integration with the existing bank environment. He is the proud holder of a PMP certificate and is an agile methodologies enthusiast. Constantly striving for new ways of improving the development process, both on a technological and an organizational level, he continuously shares his insights on improvement with his development department.
