Hi

I'm trying to understand how liferay organzies web content.
I have the following needs:
  • Static Content (like the Contact page, product descriptions)
  • Dynamic Growing Content (like News, Press Releases...)

How can I map this on the Typ/Category/Tags and how do I display the Dynamic Content?

If there are any questions, please ask, I will try to answer immediately

Thanks in advance

The best solution for me was to create web content structures and templates for dynamic / user changeable content. The static web contents were html pages.

Categorization and tagging should give you the possibility to structure your contents...

Thanks! Thats an good idea, so i have the static stuff out of my way ;)

Now i have another question, can i use on-board utils to display articles like a blog roll (like on various php cms (joomla e.g.))

as example
1.) http://www.ff-esternberg.at/aktuelles -> i like to create such a blog roll (must not be exactly the same style, but the same functionality)
2.) "Neuigkeiten" (News) Box on the top right of http://www.ff-esternberg.at -> such a portlet would be nice

best regards
Florian Huber

Hi Florian,

regarding your questions:

1) create a webcontent template & structure (e.g. name it "aktuelles") to output the data the way you want and then use the asset publisher portlet using the template as a filter to only show webcontents with templates named "aktuelles"

2) you can try implementing it with a webcontent template (repeatable fields) or implement it with a new portlet
