arrayable-operator error

Hi I am facing one issue with arrayable-operator="OR" operator in service.xml file.
<finder-column name="xxxxx" arrayable-operator="OR"/> here column data type is String i am getting the error.
Please let me know the column name should be only long or any data type we can give. if only long why it's not accepting String data type.
