Hello,
Although I'm using Liferay for quite some time now, I was mostly concentrating on developing custom portlets and far less on configuring existing ones. But recently I had a request for a simple site with CMS features. I thought I would use Liferay 6.1 (by the time the site goes live a GE version should be released) as it seemed to have everything I need OOTB. Unfortunately, it turned out I was unable to configure web content permissions as expected.
The case seemed very simple. Besides standard "site member" role there is a "webmaster" role which can add/modify/delete content. The content is using predefined structures and templates which "webmaster" can not change. I thought I would simply use "Web content display" to display the content and then let "webmaster" modify/replace it via
Unfortunately I spent a few hours experimenting and I couldn't find a way to configure this in acceptable way. The attached file contains the issues I have ran into. Perhaps there are workarounds for some of them. But I feel some can be considered bugs or feature requests. So I'm posting here, hoping to see at least some of these fixed/implemented in future versions.
Meanwhile, any thought or workarounds (that ca save me some custom development I already foresee) are highly appreciated.

- "add" and "update" features available in "Web content display" portlet

Had similar problem with a simple CMS site. Concept of Role is still very weak in respect to CMS functionality.Ended up customizing it. Lucky, it's not too complicated.
When I mentioned it some months ago in the forum, I think Jorge mentioned about not being able to implement it in 6.1 but would consider it in future releases and he would set up a wiki page? so we won't forget it. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if he really set it up and I'm sure I didn't post it anywhere pernament. If there's such a list somewhere, your pdf sure would be worth being put there.
Anybody know about such a page?
