SAML different from other SSO

Hi All,

I never worked before with any SSO.

But now I have client requirement to work with SAML.

I am not aware anything about SAML other than single thing, that it is used for Single sign on.

I have very basic question, how SAML is different from other SSO (CAS,NTLM, Site Minder ).

What are the advantage of SAML over others ?

Any explanation will be helpful.
