How to restart portlet plugins separately?

Hi,

Sometimes we need to restart a portlet plugin, for example just after doing some changes in portlet.xm or liferay-portlet.xml. Currently, to achieve this i have installed PSI Probe on my Tomcat server, it works quite well. But i was wondering if there is an embedded Liferay admin portlet allowing to do the same, i.e. restarting a portlet plugin separately? Or may be someone knows if a Marketplace application does it?

Sorry if i missed something obvious, but i did not find any "restart" option through Liferay UI, nore a blog / topic related to this. Thanks!

Hi donino,
what do you mean by 'restart',

do you mean re deploy?
if so solution is here
simply add portlet to server.
(right click on tomcat server in servers panel, select add/ remove, select portlet which need to be deployed when changes are made, click finish, your job is done.)

Dear Donino,

I hope you get feature of restarting of webapplication/portlets only through application server console. Web-Sphere/weblogic have a feature of installing/ un-installing /restarting of portlet via application server console.

Currently liferay doesn't support restarting portlets from control panel

Thanks & Regards,

Thank you for answers,

That's what i thought so, i wanted to be sure. jBoss7 and Glassfish has also an embedded "restart" command from their respective console, so there is a problem only with Tomcat, since Tomcat manager is not included in Liferay bundles. I will keep going with Probe!

Best regards
