SSL / HTTPS problems

Hello,
I use liferay 6.2 ce ga2 and Zimbra 8.0.7

I have portlet that are connected to Zimbra ( they get nombre of mail not read yet..) I works when the server is local but when It's not It doesnt work
because I guess Liferay uses http and zimbra https so I've been told have to configure liferay with SSL

Am I going on the right road ? and how to do that ?

Ok thank you ,
I followed all steps now Im confused where should I put the content of tomcat.csr I opened GoDaddy
and I couldn't find the form

Q: is there a free SSLcertificate ?.

Goddady Have a standard certificat format .cer you can put it where ever you want and then Export your key into to it.
You can generate your own certificate but you can use it only on local. If you want a public one you have to buy it.
