email notification not updating with https

I switched to https. When I get email notification about message board, for example, the domain is still pointint to http. What do I need to change exactly?

Configure portal-ext.properties. Check the defaults and look for "protocol" - that will (hopefully) explain. If not, let me know what's missing.

I don't see any of those options in my properties file.

correct. Either that or web.server.protocol.

The large file that I've linked provides all the defaults that Liferay uses, you'll explicitly have to configure them in portal-ext.properties - that's why you don't see them there before you do so. portal-ext.properties - by default - is empty.
