[UNSOLVABLE?] How to avoid the browser popup after NTLM authentication fail

Hello, people.

We are using NTLM SSO authentication. When authentication succeeds, that is great. However, when it fails the browser raises a popup window asking for username and password. If we close this popup clicking in "Cancel", a blank page is presented.

How could we use NTLM authentication and, if it failed, present a login page (e.g. /web/guest)?

i know it's an old thread but did you solve this issue ?
I have the same pb, for some computer not in the same domain, i have this popup. I'd like to redirect to /web/login without having this popup.
