Relating categories and Document Library

Hi,

I am working with Liferay 5.2.3 and Liferay 6.0.5.

Is there a way to relate Categories and Document Library content in Liferay.

Our requirement:
Suppose that we upload a document through document library portlet. We should be able to assign that document to a category (say for example Software category). Then through a portlet like Categories Navigation, i should be able to see the link to the document under the Software category in the hierchical tree.

Is this possible? Has anyone tried this? How much customization is required?

Any kind of ideas or suggestions would be of great help.

i have exactly the same problem. Have you implemented that ? How did you do that ?

Put in a page this two portlets:
- categories navigation
- asset publisher (configured to show only documents and no other resources)

When you click on a category on Categories Navigation the asset publisher show you only resources with that category!

You can get this without any customization..only Liferay portlets out of the box!

Is this your requirement ?
