Hi Mandy,

Thank you very much for your swift reply and sorry for my belated answer. Here are the steps I did to install Liferay and Social office:
* Downloaded the WAR archive 6.1.1 GA2 CE and deployed it to Tomcat 7
* Downloaded the Social Office for Liferay 6.1.1 GA2 CE and deployed it to Tomcat 7
Everything went smoothly and Liferay started like a charm without any error. I then went to Control panel, Portal instances, filled out the form and got the errors which I pasted above.
What I can do now as you suggest, is uninstall the current Liferay Social Office by removing the directory from webapps, restart Liferay and hot deploy a more recent version of Liferay Social Office. The problem is that when I go to the link in the Market Place area, it provides me with the same WAR archive. Could you please let me know where I may download a more recent version from the Market Place for Liferay 6.1.1 GA2 CE? I will then install it and give you my feedback whether I can create multiple portal instances or whether I am stcuk somewhere?
This is very important to me to be able to install multiple portal instances with the Social Office hook.
Thousand thanks for your help.
Regards,
--
Patrick

Hey guys,

I'm getting to know Social Office.

For our project i was asked whether it is possible to create Contact Groups in the "Contacts Center" Portlet.

As far as i can see, you can add own users to your addressbook. And on the left side i can set a filter to All/Connections/Following/My Contacts and Members of XXX, YYY with XXX and YYY being my sites. Can i somehow make one more filter there to display just a group of my contacts?

My second question aims at the "My Contacts". If i click "Add", a window appears where i can insert a name, email address and a comment. is it possible to give more information fields there such as address and telephone number like in the regular user profiles?

thank you for your help in advance

Bernd

Hi Patrick,

I tried recreating the issue you experienced, however, I was able to successfully create a second portal instance before as well as after installing Social Office 2.0.4 CE. Are you by chance using an older version of Social Office? We fixed an issue with creating portal instances, which is included in the 2.0.4 bug fix release. Which version of Social Office do you have installed?

Regards,
Mandy

Does it mean that portal instances must be created before installing the social office hook? I have not yet tried this alternative. Social Office is already installed and I would like to create now multiple portal instances.
In my opinion it would be smart if new portal instances could be created after a Liferay platform is set up with all the additional hooks/plugins. There may be a way to do it or do I missed something?. If anyone has an answer or experienced this error, this would be of great help. Thanks a lot in advance for your answer.

Also, the Blogs page of the Social Office site template is no longer loaded with the Related Assets portlet. Instead, it comes with the Recent Blogs portlet by default. Thanks for bringing this to our attention; we'll update the Social Office documentation right away.

If you'd like to use the Related Assets portlet, just add it to your Social Office site's Blogs page. We modified the WebDAV URL (but only when you open the document from web browser UI) to include manualCheckInRequired parameter. This way user will have to manually check in the the file through UI, instead of files being checked in automatically whenever you close or saved the document. This will allow user to work on a document in draft mode without creating a lot of minor versions.

This should not effect your regular usage in WebDAV client.
