One huge concept we must demo in Liferay is a "profile" page. Here are the things I am trying to accomplish:
1. Create a profile page template with what I want on the users profile page
2. Assign this profile page template to all users
3. The users current page needs to be wiped clean and replaced with this one
4. Update the profile template should update the users profile page
5. Optionally: It would be nice to be able to lock portlets in place. This means that the user can add some new portlets at the bottom but not move the ones at the top or delete them.

Here is what I have accomplished:
1. Created a "Site Template" which contains my profile page (works)
2. Assign the Site Template to a User Group which contains all users (partially working)
- This one works if the user has never visited the site. It also adds the template below the default stuff that is on their public page, which is no good.
3. The users page is not wiped clean.
4. Updating the template after the user has already logged in does not update their page.

I would assume this is something fairly common that people are doing.

Dynamic templates are part of the next release. Right now the templates (as you've witnessed) are used to set up the page the first time the user visits it, but will not be updated when the template is changed.

Is that version 6.1?

Thanks for the information about it not currently being present, you just saved me a lot of headache trying to get it working correctly.

Do you know if there is a way to turn off the dynamic template after a certain amount of time? Say I want to do the steps described below where you wipe a person's personal page and then update it to match a template. Then I don't want the page to update anymore. (I'm just curious about the capabilities of this new feature in the next patch)

Is it possible to change the default template site ?
Create a different site template and used it at the first time the user logs instead of the default template site ?

Thks !
