Upgrade from 5.1 to 6.0 and Change Database

Hi all,
Well my situation is that i have Liferay CE 5.1 running with oracle as database. Now i need to upgrade to Liferay CE 6.0. Moreover, i currently have Oracle database but owing to some reasons i need to switch to MySQL.

I am able to migrate the database from Oracle to MySQL using MySQL migration tool but when i connect the application (even version 5.1) to it it throws so many errors. I am stuck here. I read somewhere that first i need to upgrade to 5.2 but even 5.2.2 does not succesfully connect to the MySQL database. Am i missing something ?

i was looking for a step by step guide to complete this migration. Can anyone help please ????

My suggestion is to first migrate to MySQL and fix every error until you have a clean startup. Then you try to migrate to a newer version of Liferay. What are the errors that you are getting when switching to MySQL?
