Find all users that are in the same communites as I am in

I have a portlet where I need to find all communities that I am part of. Additionally, I need to find all of the user ids of the people that are in the same communities as I am in (whether they are in the community as a user, group or organization).

It starts getting tricky because users, Groups, and Organizations can belong to Communities.

Is there a way to get all user ids for users that are in the same communities that I am associated with in a way other than going through Liferay webservices?

I am using Liferay 6.0.6.
