user customizable layout

How can we create user customizable layout , such that user can change the dimensions of columns and rows ?

I think I didn't see this type of functionality in liferay. But we can get this by using "dojo toolkit". Like alloy we may be use dojo toolkit.

I saw such layouts in dojo but I didn't try to get into liferay.
