Display Journal Articles

Hi,
I am novice to Liferay, I am able to create an article programmatically. Now my requirement is to display those aricles in a portlet. So i am using the Journal Article Portlet for that, but it supports to display only these options for displaying the articles specific to..
1. My Community (Admin)
2. Guest
3. Specific to a community.

But for me it shud display all the aticles (w/o any restrictions like specifiec to a community or an user), so to that is there a way to override the service?
If yes can any body say that how to do that....
