PHP Portlet

Hi,
I have installed Liferay as a Tomcat bundle. I know for a fact that PHP needs Apache Server to run. Does that mean that installing liferay as a tomcat bundle will not work for PHP portlets and we have to install Liferay in another way? Apologies for the naivity.
Thanks and Regards,
Jyothi

No, Liferay will be able to run php on Tomcat.
Liferay uses Quercus to run php in Java. If you are going to run PHP portlet, you'll need to download some libraries.

You don't need to download any libraries to get PHP portlet working.

Liferfay will automatically do the download but if I'm behind a firewall, I think I downloaded the following jars.
#
# Set the URLs of Libraries that might be needed to download during the
# auto deploy process.
#
library.download.url.resin.jar=http://cdn.files.liferay.com/public/quercus/4.0.11/resin.jar
library.download.url.script-10.jar=http://cdn.files.liferay.com/public/quercus/3.1.9/script-10.jar
