Hi Giri,

As per my understanding, if you configure message board portlet in any site then threads, categories, etc created under it will remain accessible throughout that site only. If you configure message board portlet in another site then those records will not available in it.

This is correct! Also, if you specify a different "scope" for a given Message Boards portlet, its threads/posts will be in that scope only, and only visible to Message board portlets that are also configured for the same scope.
