Liferay with elastic search?

Regular Member Postagens: 159 Data de Entrada: 06/11/09 Postagens Recentes
Hi Friends

Have anyone integrated Liferay with Eastic search .

By default the liferay indexing works with Lucene and Elastic search is developed on top of Lucene. So is there a way to replace the indexing of Liferay pointing to Elastc search.

Any help /inputs is appreciated.

Thanks Zaheer

But this blog speaks about elastic search advantages. How do we implement this is not so clear.

Navigate to elasticsearch.yml and configure your data(Liferay) folder path

# Path to directory where to store index data allocated for this node.
#
# path.data: /path/to/data

If data is properly indexed ... Use search api form Elastic Search to fetch the data.

Hi Zaheer

I tried giving the path to liferay lucene data folder but it doesn't work out as the data folder structure of Elastic is different from liferay. emoticon

Hi Mohammed,

you will need to create your own search plugin to use Liferay with Elastic Search, we have done at Xtivia. We are going to be publishing some more information at Xtivia's blog, but if you want more help right now you will have to contact Xtivia.

Best,
Asier

We have developed an alpha version of elastic search web-plugin and verified that it works in 6.1.1+ CE editions. You can get the source code here:

https://github.com/R-Knowsys/elasticray

If you want to get the binary download, you can get it here.
