how to set windowstate in the render method?

Hello Friends,

I want to set the windowstate to normal for the portlet in render method.
I know that by default portlet renders in normal state but I am getting an issue when I am doing IPC and setting the windowstate to minimized.

I am setting the portlet's windowstate to minimized after selection of one product from the list and showing the details of it in another portlet.
Now, even I refresh the page portlet's state is not setting back to normal.
can anyone faced such issue?
can any one please help me on this??

You cannot. Render will occur many times when a page refreshes due to submits on other portlets, etc. You should never, ever be taking any action in your portlets, that is reserved for the action phase.
