hi all,
I am developing a portlet which having more than 1000 results records.
I want to limit the result to pages, each containing 20 to 30 records.

Hi,
Once you will get list object into your jsp then you can use
<display:table> jstl tab.
And by using this tag you can also limit your list with pagination.

Hi,
You can use liferay search container :
Please refer this wiki link:

You can use liferay search container :
<%
List articleList = (List)request.getAttribute("articleList");
%.
<liferay-ui:search-container delta="5" emptyresultsmessage="Sorry. There are no items to display.">
<liferay-ui:search-container-results total="<%= articleList.size() %>" results="<%= ListUtil.subList(articleList, searchContainer.getStart(), searchContainer.getEnd()) %>" />
<liferay-ui:search-container-row modelvar="article" classname="com.liferay.portlet.journal.model.JournalArticle">
<liferay-ui:search-container-column-text name="Product" property="title" href="<%= articleUrl.toString()%>" />
<liferay-ui:search-container-column-text name="Page Name" property="urlTitle" />
</liferay-ui:search-container-row>
<liferay-ui:search-iterator searchContainer="<%= searchContainer %>" />
</liferay-ui:search-container>
