Public page access

I was planning to make the X site pages all private and the home page as public.
Any one has permissions to view the Welcome page.

When I use the urls:

http://localhost:9080/ or http://localhost:9080/web/guest/ the home page is OK

But when I use the link:
http://localhost:9080/web/X/home each portlet in the page gives a message “You do not have the roles required to access this portlet”

It is the same page!!!
The only thing is how I write the URL

Is that a problem? Or user should not be have access to the X site unless he is logged in?

Check the portlet permissions http://localhost:9080/web/X/home page.

Portlet right corner (Options) -> Configuration -> Permissions

Does the Guest role have view permission?

I have the guest permission checked on for that page

Guest permission need to checked for individual portlet settings. Not to the page permission. Page permission means only to view the page, that doesn't men permission for portlets.
