Liferay hosting providers

This page tries to keep up-to-date a (non-exhaustive) list of companies offering Liferay hosting for other companies willing to use Liferay but not wanting/having IT infrastructure/IT-HR resources/funds to install/configure/maintain their own servers. It also includes some generic-hosting companies (JSP/Servlets or full servers) that are not liferay-specific. This page is structured in four sections:

• ASP (Liferay Application Service Providers): Companies that offer you high level access to your own instance of Liferay / your own virtual host through communities (that is, only web access, including administration access to the portal in some cases) but not low-level access (i.e.: ssh/ftp/telnet) to the server hosting your instance.

• DSP-Liferay (Dedicated Server Provider specialized in Liferay): Companies that are specialized in offering server hosting (either real or virtual server hosting) and have included among their "standard options" some options that include the installation of Liferay.

• Java Hosting (Generic): Companies that offer JSP/Servlets hosting.

• DSP: (Dedicated Server Provider - Generic): Companies that offer generic packages for dedicated real/virtual servers on top of which you can install Liferay.

The general idea is that, if you want to have access to your own instance of Liferay, it should be quicker/easy to try it in this order:

• Version: Current version of LEP available for hosting
• Upgrading: upgrading policy; Last=always upgrades to last stable version, Fixed=no upgrades
• Mode: ASP mode. F=Full=customers have their own company (full manageable). C=Community=customers have their own community inside provider's company space (limited management)
• Billing: billing cycle options (M=monthly, Y=yearly. "Y" could indicate that there is some discount available for yearly payment)
• Pricing: pricing for minimal package (for example: "1-10 users"). Exact pricing depends on provider's model/offers for advanced payment, volume discount, etc.) "U/M"=pricing per user/month.
• Domain included: yes/no includes your own domain name (under a TLD, companies offering a subdomain under their own domain are noted as "no")
• Support languages: languages in which the customer can address requests to the provider's support service (if available)
• Backups: yes/no: if pricing includes/doesn't include backups
• BW usage: included bandwith usage in the price
• HD usage: included hard disk usage (document library, mail folders, lucene indexes, database, etc., what is exactly included depends on provider)
• Contributor: yes/no. The provider has contributed with some developments/adaptations/improvements/patches to the development of Liferay
• Custom portlets: list of custom portlets available that are not included in the LEP version offered (OD: custom portlets development services available on demand)
