Flexible Organizations Liferay Portal’s framework is what allows users to fully leverage the potential of 5.0’s enhanced collaboration tools in an enterprise setting. Liferay Portal was designed such that users within your enterprise can belong to multiple unique organizations and communities within those organizations. Access and rights to these organizations, communities, and even the individual sets of applications used by each group, can be granted to those outside the enterprise as well. Content Management System: - Full and Partial Staging - Staging is a feature of Liferay Portal that allows users to edit live pages without committing their changes until they are ready.
- Asset Publisher Portlet - This portlet allows you to publish any piece of content in your portal as though it were a Journal Article, either through a set of publishing rules or by manually selecting it.
- Multiple Document Uploads and Conversion
- Article View Counter - This is implemented via AJAX, which allows us to take advantage of our caching mechanism to be sure that the counters on cached pages are updated. The Asset Publisher portlet can take advantage of the counter by ordering pages by the number of views.
- Import / Export improvements with a UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) for portal objects.
Message Boards Liferay Portal 5.0 includes a full-fledged Message Boards portlet that rivals standalone products in its feature set with all the benefits of a portal environment. Message Boards are a perfect solution for facilitating conversations within a department or project team that is collaborating around shared ideas, or for capturing and sharing the tacit knowledge of your workgroup. - Includes support for sticky posts, statistics, recent posts, RSS, email-based subscriptions, avatars, threads management (move to another category), and full fine-grained permissions.
