Recently I tried the announcement portlet on Liferay 6.0.5 CE JBoss bundle.
It worked as expected, but then suddently I saw an email in my inbox containing the very same subject and text message as in the announcement created.

Now this would not disturb me much as it is a welcome feature. I am just wondering why the sender's email address is Joe Bloggs.
Where do you configure the from-address for the announcements?

If you have already created portal-ext.properties in your ROOT/WEB-INF/classes folder add those settings in the file and restart the server!
