Your only documenation source will be http://alloy.liferay.com. Your source for examples will be the liferay source code for the portlets. If you had searched the forum, you probably would have found this thread.
Hi David,
Thanks for the reply
yeah i have looked into the links you mentioned.
I get to see a lot of demos and examples with some codes..
But i would want to understand them term by term..
As what are the aui tags that are available.. its description. the attributes and its description..
what all values are possible for those attributes and so on.,
Thanks for the reply

The best AUI examples are, of course, the Liferay source. Liferay makes more use out of AUI than any of us ever will...

Examples of AUI in liferay can be understood only by Liferay Experts like you, but not for beginners..

Rome wasn't built in a day, and although I know a lot about Liferay, I wouldn't claim to know everything... Most of what I have learned I've picked up from the forum and from the source, tackling one little piece at a time...
PFA of PDF book on LIFERAY USER INTERFACE, in that you will find chapter 8 on AUI..
I know that this is in violation of copyright. Packt books are very strictly on pdf redistribution of their books. Recommend that you delete the attached pdf file you've uploaded.
I don't want to see this site being shutdown.

OOPS sorry.. Never knew this would cause harm to my fav.website..
Liferay itself has deleted that post.. I regret, in future there wont be such a mistake
Thanks

No problem and thanks for your understanding!
I recognize that last year we didn't have so much documentation and it was hard to begin with Alloy, but now it's different.
Yesterday we release version 2.0 with a new website!
http://alloyui.com
I hope this can help you all
You can also find more information about those changes here:

What people are looking for is documentation of what is in Liferay right now.
I understand that the older (i.e., current) versions of alloy might not have great docs -- but those not-so-great-docs would be better than docs for a version that isn't deployed in Liferay yet. At least for most people.
It doesn't even look as though the link here (http://deploy.alloyui.com/api), which is the URL given on the main Alloy page here in liferay.com points to docs for the current liferay or not. It says it is for AlloyUI 1.7.0p3/YUI 3.7.3
AFAIK Liferay 6.1 GA2 is still on YUI 3.4.0, and if you type
AUI.version into a Chrome console, you get "3.4.0"

I have to agree with the previous post. I spent an hour to find relevant docs for alloy with no luck. I couldn't even determine the actual Alloy UI version used by Liferay 6.1.1 GA2 (only the YUI version was clear.)
Guys, this is serious!
Guys, this is serious!
I found the Alloy UI online documentation can not be used too much except to just see which functionality is supported because
it's more written when Alloy UI is used standalone instead of within Liferay portlet.
Best to look at the source of the demo included.
Also, Alloy UI is more of a collection of UI component instead of a ui library such as jquery.
Lastly, it's better to post to the Alloy UI forum instead of Portal forum.
