In order to embed Portlet into Theme, you have to make use of theme.runtime(portlet_id), for more info google it..

Muzakir, you've missed the point. You should have pointed out that liferay does use ajax.
Bill has right to his opinion but he should have done a better job doing his homework before he made his post.
No document? I mean what that "Documentation" in the above menu bar?

Nevertheless, he does have a point in in liferay having different ui to do the same thing and ui being too complex
and having portlets that aren't normally now used.

Yes Hitoshi, I knew already that Liferay supports Ajax.. But what is the use of making to understand a person who is trying to under estimate Our beautiful technology..
I think so he has been appointed by other rival technologies to post in our forum like this.. let me give me an example, " If an Elephant is walking then Dogs start barking at the Elephant but then too Elephant keeps walking with Pride.. Cheerz to whole world's Liferay team..

The small disadvantage is, we have limitation to use it for 25,000 minutes only per month.
Hats off to RCS for contributing such an important portlet to liferay..

Also as above mentioned by Oliver, since Dockbar itself is a Struts portlet, you can embed other portlets by using Embed tag in jsp of the dockbar Portlet

Can you be still more clear.. You did not find the #breadcrumb() where it is defined or what??.. if you need to change the look and feel of breadcrumb, then you have to specify your css in custom.css of your theme..

You do not copy the stuff from classic...

You edit build.xml in the theme and make classic the parent theme. Then you do a build to get the standard theme files copied in. Then in the _diffs folder, you only create those directories/files that you need changes in.

Yes it is possible..
You can create a new custom Theme, and then you have to copy and paste the 4 folders(css,images,js & templates) of the classic theme into the _diffs folder of newly created custom theme, now you can override any of the property you want to achieve and deploy it. The look and feel of classic theme will be maintained as it is, except the overridden property.

Ok Fine, Have you specified any css for your custom portlet?.. If Yes, then check out whether you have specifically specified your css only for IE..

I have facing the layout overflowing issue which I used 70/30. the problem is In Chrome & Firefox , it shown all portlet in left hand side like 80/20 and no portlet is shown in right hand side. it is only located in left. BUT in IE 7,8 no issues.

kindly let me know why is the strange behavior on FF,Chrome ?

The 70/30 page layout which you are using is your custom page layout or inbuilt pagelayout?..
