Subscription-based paid membership plugin?

Hi,

This "paid membership" plugin was suggested some time ago (see thread link below) but I can't find any resolution to this. Was it voted for? Does such a thing exist already?

I am very keen to use Liferay as the platform for a commercial, niche social networking business but, for it to work, I really need this function. I have found equivalents in WordPress (s2 Member seems to be the best) and Drupal (Ubercart and Membership) but nothing like this in Liferay. Have I just missed something as this appears to be a significant omission?

If it truly does not exist already, I will explore options for contract development work but would rather avoid / minimise this if at all possible.

Did you manage to find anything on paid membership function in Liferay? We also need this functionality in our portal?
