restrict people from making changes to wcm at same time

Is it possible to keep two people from making changes to the same page or porlet at the same time? Much like in source code check out. If I give two people the permissions to make content changes to website, how do you keep them from making changes at the same time to the same content?

anyone know the answer to this?

I've seen this brought up before and seen it in the jira issues but it seems it's still not resolved in 6.1.0 GA1.

With the workflow on, all changes are done on the same version so the content will become those saved by the last person.

That won't answer you question. It's, however, possible to make each user edit a different version of a document.

thanks for taking the time to reply. I've seen how one could use variations to sort of control published content. However, this really is problematic if one's content is changing on daily or weekly basis. You don't want two people editing the same content at the same time. I am surprised that Liferay doesn't have a solution for this.

I am using 6.1ga1 for testing purposes.
