End of Life Policy

Customers purchasing a Liferay Enterprise Search Subscription will benefit from a full enterprise-grade End of Life ("EOL") policy (also referred to as End of Service Life ("EOSL") policy).

Premium Support Phase

The Premium Support Phase for a Software Product begins on the applicable First Ship Date of the Major Version and ends two (2) years from that First Ship Date. During the Premium Support Phase, customers with an active Liferay Enterprise Search Subscription will be provided:
  • full support including hot fixes, in accordance with the applicable Support Services Level, with up to 24x7, 365 day coverage;
  • full support of integration and search issues including hot fixes;
  • access to Liferay's Help Center and customer knowledge bases;
  • access to all updates and upgrades of the Liferay Enterprise Search adapters developed against the Compatible Liferay DXP version; and
  • security alerts and patch updates for Severity 1, Severity 2, and Severity 3 security vulnerabilities.

Limited Support Phase

The Limited Support Phase commences upon the end of the Premium Support Phase. The Limited Support Phase then runs for (i) two (2) years, or (ii) the until the end of the Premium Support Phase of the applicable version of Liferay DXP software with which the customer has deployed LES, whichever is earlier. During the LES Limited Support Phase, customers with an active Liferay Enterprise Search Subscription will be provided:
  • support, in accordance with the applicable Support Services Level, with up to 24x7, 365 day coverage;
  • support for integration issues on LES's adapters;
  • access to Liferay's Help Center and customer knowledge bases;
  • access to all updates and upgrades of the Liferay Enterprise Search adapters developed against the Compatible Liferay DXP version; and
  • security alerts and patch updates for Severity 1 and Severity 2 security vulnerabilities .
In addition, the following guidelines apply:
  • Liferay Support will direct customers to existing fix packs, workarounds, and consolidated service packs available in Liferay's Help Center.
  • Liferay Support may direct customers to upgrade to a more current version/release of the Software Product in line with the service life of the Digital Enterprise version which the customer is using.

Sustained Support Phase

After the LES Limited Support Phase, LES enters into the Sustained Support Phase after the completion of the Limited Support phase for the latest Compatible Liferay DXP version (see Enterprise Search Compatibility Matrix). During the LES Sustained Support Phase, customers with an active Liferay Enteprise Search Subscription will be provided:
  • support, in accordance with the applicable Support Services Level, with up to 24x7, 365 day coverage;
  • support for integration issues on LES's adapters;
  • access to Liferay's Help Center and customer knowledge bases; and
  • access to all updates and upgrades of the Liferay Enterprise Search adapters developed against the Compatible Liferay DXP version
Customers on Sustained Support will not be provided with:
  • new updates, fixes, security alerts, data fixes, and critical patch updates;
  • new tax, legal, and regulatory updates;
  • new upgrade scripts; and
  • certification with new third-party products/versions.
In addition, the following guidelines apply:
  • Liferay Support will direct customers to existing fix packs, workarounds, and consolidated service packs available in Liferay's Help Center.
  • Liferay Support may direct customers to upgrade to a more current version/release of the Software Product in line with the service life of the DXP version which the customer is using.

Definitions

Software Product means any version of Liferay Enterprise Search. 

Compatible Liferay DXP Version means a version of Liferay DXP that is compatible with a specific Liferay Enterprise Search version as specified in the Liferay Enterprise Search Compatibility Matrix.

First Ship Date means the date on which Liferay first makes available, for download or sale, a Major Version or Minor Version.

Major Version means generally commercially released major new releases, modifications or enhancements to the same Software Product. A new Major Version is identified by a version number where the number to the left of the first decimal in the version number is incremented (example: 1.x.x to 2.x.x).

Minor Version means generally commercially released code corrections, patches, updates and minor version releases of the same Software Product. A new Minor Version is identified by a version number where the number to the right of the first decimal in the version number is incremented (example: 1.0.x to 1.1.x).
