How to install a non-marketplace war from control panel?

Hello, in Liferay CE 6.1.1 GA2 I cannot find a way to upload a plugin war from the control panel. The interface keeps redirecting me to the marketplace, but I need to install my own war, and I find no link for that!
can you help?

You have to install from marketplace: Private Plugin Installer CE

You can also manually deploy it by copying the WAR file to Liferay's hot deploy directory.

I did that, and now, the Private Plugin does not work, doesn't show the link to upload a war file.

Okay, well you just revived a 2 and 1/2 year old thread, so the first question (besides why?) is what version of Liferay are you using? In 6.2, the private plugin deploy was re-added and the plugin installer is no longer necessary.

In 6.2, you go to the control panel to the apps section to App Manager. Then you can choose the Install tab and install war from there.
