Portal intermittent slow login or navigation

Hello,
Environment
- Ubuntu Linux Server 12.04.1
- Intel Xeon CPU 2 cores, 2GB RAM
- Liferay-portal 6.1.1-ce-ga2 (bundled with tomcat)
We have this strange symptom that when login to the portal via the url during the first instance, it takes an unbearably long duration.
Observation:
- cpu load will show high during this slow period of initial login although no other users except this login being processed
- once the cpu load goes to normal after a long period, the login becomes successful
- thereafter navigation will be fast
- executing an immediate logout and subsequent login will still be fast
- however, if the portal is not used for a while, the same slow process will be experienced during login
Appreciate advice where I can check/correct ?
Regards
Jupp

Jupp: I too have this problem. Login is long intermittently nnd going to control panel same thing. Have no solution but trying to figure it out.
