Problem with emailing via Office365

We have some problems with emailing via Office365. Eeventuelly no email was possible whatsoever. Error says it has something to do with TLS encryption. After adding this statement: mail.smtp.starttls.enable=true we could send some text messages. But sending reports (as a pdf document) does not work. I know it has been recognized as an issue but hear nothing about a solution. Neither do I find any posts in this forum about this issue. We need to know what the status is beacuse our customers expect to receive reports (missing this feature for almost 3 month now)

Question:
I like to know if anybody else have same sort of problems?
Does anybody know about an issue with Office365?
Does anybody know about the status of this issue?

Note: after adding the extra statement (see above) in the mail config page it was never seen again when I re-opend that page later on (althuogh text messages could be send)
Where does Liferay store these extra settings and how can I check if Liferay did process these lines?
