Web Content Display not working as expected when embedded in theme

Hi Everyone,

I'm not sure if this question should go in the development forum or this one.

I'm having an issue with my custom themes in which I've embedded instances of the web content display portlet, where the only control that works is the "select web content" button. If I click any of the other buttons like edit web content the page will refresh and nothing changes except I then have an error listed in my browser's JS console saying something like "Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property '_15_title' of undefined".

In other themes I have created where the WCD is not embedded, but a WCD is added later, the controls all work as expected.

I'm using Liferay Portal Enterprise Edition 6.1.30 EE (Paton / Build 6130 / August 16, 2013)

I'm not sure what's going on here, so any help would be appreciated.

Hello Adam. I've got the same issue. Did you find solution?

Hi Arina, I didn't find a solution as such but more of a work around. I moved the web content display includes out of the theme and used a layout template instead. So I have a theme > layout template. The portlets are embedded in the layout template. Edit controls now seem to work ok.
