Liferay Announces New Office in France
Latest European branch planned to further elevate open source portal leader's profile in France
PARIS, France — (February 4, 2013) — Liferay, Inc., provider of the world's leading enterprise-class open source portal platform, announced today the opening of a new office in France as the most recent expansion of Liferay's presence in Europe. Franck Verbeke, who joins Liferay with 25 years of sales and management experience in the enterprise software market, is leading the company's effort to serve customers in France's thriving market for Liferay's portal and collaboration technologies.
The new presence comes in response to proven demand for Liferay's products in France, where companies are investing in the open source portal technology to increase online engagement and customer loyalty. Liferay's ability to provide a single user experience across multiple channels has also been valuable to customers implementing strategic brand consolidation initiatives.
Mr. Verbeke joins the company at a time of strong growth in France, with many corporations in the CAC 40, its benchmark stock market index, already on Liferay's customer list. That includes three of France's major banks, which are using Liferay across a spectrum of projects that are designed to reduce operating costs and improve customer services online. Liferay is well known in the French IT community as a strong web solution platform, and its popularity is reflected in the company's local partner roster of 11 companies.
"The opening of Liferay's Paris office is a natural outgrowth of the strong Liferay customer and partner base we already enjoy in France," said Liferay CEO Bryan Cheung. "Under Franck's leadership, Liferay is well positioned to grow our impact in the region by supporting our customers' strategic initiatives. Liferay France is further evidence of our commitment to building a lasting presence in the European market and to invest in long-term customer relationships."
"I am excited to lead the expansion of Liferay through a local presence in France," said Franck Verbeke, Liferay's General Manager in France. "Our success in the financial services and consumer products sectors, which are dealing with major industry changes, demonstrates Liferay's value as a flexible platform for responding to complex business challenges. I fully expect Liferay to become a strategic platform throughout the French market in the years to come."
Mr. Verbeke joins Liferay with broad experience starting and expanding operations for software and high-tech companies in France and other parts of Europe. He joined Interleaf in 1995, working in the enterprise sales division for five years before moving to Activcard to start the authentication solutions provider's southern Europe operations. He also previously acted as the country manager for WCM content management company Fatwire, growing its France operations over four years, and founded Magicaxess, an authentication and electronic signature solutions provider for which he served as Chief Operating Officer.
Liferay's new Paris office is located at 15 rue Taitbout, 75009 Paris. Contact the office at +33 (0)1 73 02 08 07 or email@example.com. Liferay's France Symposium, planned for June 6, will invite attendees to meet top Liferay executives and network with open source industry leaders and decision makers.
