Ldap authentication; portal 6.0.5 Apple ODS and underscores in screen names

Hi

I've successfuly added our ODS through ldap however, I want to use uid's with an underscore in them (i.e. BCDA1_10) as the users screen name and then use this for authentication; this is what the users are used to.

15:39:53,890 ERROR [PortalLDAPImporterImpl:470] Unable to import user uid=HAUM1_08,cn=users: null:null:{uid=uid: HAUM1_08} com.liferay.portal.UserScreenNameException

Is there a reason liferay doesn't like underscores in the screen name? I'm using a MySQL server as the DB.

If anyone has some insight I'd be grateful.

I'm trying to get Lifreay 6.1 to play nice with Lion Server ODS. Have you upgraded since you wrote this post and, if so, can you share your properties file so I can try the same.
