In 2002, Michael and Carol Hart founded ZOE International a 501(c)3 nonprofit. They were living comfortably in Southern California with a successful business in the Motion Picture Industry for 14 years when they heard about child trafficking. Everything changed for them. They prayed and asked God how they could help. They sold their custom-designed home and everything they had and moved to Thailand to begin working to help end the human trafficking of children. Shortly thereafter, Carol gave away her 6-carat diamond wedding ring to raise more funds to help more children. ZOE’s main campus is located in Thailand where they live. For over 15 years, ZOE has fought the human trafficking of children and protected orphans at risk. They have developed innovative prevention and rescue solutions as an NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) serving in this arena. They have seen extraordinary outcomes in the restoration of the children they have rescued who are able to move forward with restored hope and new direction. They provide prosecution preparation for rescued children and protective services. Because of their outstanding anti-trafficking work, ZOE has been recipients of several government awards and ongoing opportunities to work closely with both Law Enforcement and Social Welfare multi-disciplinary task forces. Their main focus as they fight this global atrocity is looking for long term solutions that will serve and protect vulnerable children, families, and communities in any country. They have operations-offices in Los Angeles-USA, Thailand, Australia, Japan, and were recently awarded their anti-trafficking legal status to serve in Mexico.
