_styled parent theme as WAR on Maven Central?

We are working to try and configure a Maven based theme build process that can be stand-alone, without reference to a full Portal SDK. My assumption is that we should be able to reference a 'parent theme' in our maven properties and point to a WAR file as the parent as per this thread https://www.liferay.com/web/mika.koivisto/blog/-/blogs/creating-liferay-themes-with-maven However, I can not find a place where the Liferay _styled theme is posted as a WAR file on Maven Central. It is posted as a JAR but that doesn't work with the Maven Theme plugin.

Any ideas?

Mika's post is from the first days of Liferay maven support.

Currently theme plugins will download a big chunk of Liferay and will expand it in the target directory.
