Hi All,

There is an option "format-source" in ant task, what is it?

I am aware of these options deploy , build-service,build-wsdd..

I don't know what this "format-source" option do.

Hi Venka,

It helps you "format" the source code the match Liferay's coding standards. For example it will automatically remove extra white spaces, properly space the code, etc.. Also for things it cannot do automatically, it will tell you which files have issues like code over 80 lines, methods not in alphabetical order, etc.

If you are contributing code to Liferay, you should always run this task first to format the code a bit to Liferay's standards. It help keeps the code clean and readable.
